Cortland Community Orchestra

Rehearsals are on Monday nights from 7pm until 9pm during the semester in the Dowd Fine Arts Building.

The College Community Orchestra is peopled by students, faculty and community members and is one of Cortland's oldest cultural organizations. Ubaldo Valli is Music Director of the Auburn Chamber Orchestra in Auburn, NY; the Hyde Hall Chamber Players, Cooperstown, NY; and the Saratogo Springs Youth Orchestra. He has also served as conductor of the Hamilton College Orchestra and the Empire State Repertory Orchestra. He guest conducted the St. Cecilia Chamber Orchestra, Albany, NY repeatedly and several of his performances were broadcast over WMHT-FM. A highlight of his conducting experiences was conducting an orchestra for an interfaith service held with His Holiness, the Dali Lama of Tibet. He studied conducting with Pamela Gearhart and Karel Husa and has participated in national conducting workshops sponsored by the American Symphony Orchestra League.
